Teaching & Supervision
Here is an overview of my teaching and student supervision activities at the University of Namur.
Teaching Assistantship
As a Teaching Assistant, I was responsible for leading practical lab sessions, guiding student projects, and grading assignments for several undergraduate courses.
Object-Oriented Design and Programming
Academic Year: [2024-Now]
In this foundational course on object-oriented programming, I led practical lab sessions where students learned to structure, specify, and implement robust programs in Java. My role was to guide them through key abstraction techniques, including data abstraction, iteration abstraction, and type hierarchies. A strong emphasis was placed on program correctness, ensuring students respected specifications and developed effective tests.
Analysis and Design of Information Systems
Academic Years: [2024-Now]
In this course on Information Systems analysis and modeling, I led practical sessions focused on applying the UML standard to formalize business needs and system behaviors. My role was to guide students through the use of various diagrams to model functionalities, data, and interactions, specifically covering Use Case, Class, State, and Interaction Diagrams.
Requirements Engineering
Academic Year: [2024-Now]
In this course covering the state of the art in requirements engineering, I assisted in practical workshops focused on the discipline’s core activities. My role involved guiding students through exercises on requirements elicitation (interviews, workshops), documentation and modeling (goal modeling, specification templates), and verification and validation techniques such as inspections.
Master’s Thesis Supervision
Thesis: Exploitation of Language Models (LLMs) for the Evaluation of Student Feedback during Peer Code Reviews in Higher Education
This thesis explored the use of Large Language Models (LLMs) like GPT-4 to automate the evaluation of student feedback in a peer code review context. The project involved generating a “reference” feedback for a given piece of code and using it as a benchmark to assess the quality of reviews written by peers, with the goal of reducing instructor workload while maintaining pedagogical quality.
Thesis: Dynamic Visualization of the Stack and Heap: Development of an Educational Java Plugin in IntelliJ
This thesis focused on the development of “JavaViz,” an educational plugin for the IntelliJ IDE designed to help students understand abstract memory management concepts in Java. The project provided a dynamic visualization of the stack and heap during program execution. An experiment with students showed that the tool improved their understanding, confidence, and engagement with these complex topics.
